    Glad to see someone doing this.

    You should add the dining room at the Modern to your list of places to go. My wife asked for a veggie entree when she didn’t find one on the menu and they whipped up a densely layered terrine of fresh veggies that was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Our visit to per se also resulted in some wonderful off-menu creations.

    I’d be very curious to hear how you fare at wd~50. I’ve always been a bit too intimidated to try it as almost all the most interesting things on their menus are things I don’t eat.

      I’ve added the Modern to the list — I’ve actually wanted to go there for some time now but just haven’t made it.

      I have to say, when I don’t see vegetarian food on the menu, I’m often unlikely to go at all, just because I don’t know if they can “whip up” anything at all, let alone a meal I might consider “one of the best things ever”. Of course, if they just put the option on the menu it wouldn’t be an issue!

    Expand outside of Midtown/downtown. I’d check out Red Rooster in Harlem or Char No. 4 in Cobble Hill. Char is a great one because it’s known for having some of the best meat/comfort dishes in the city, but their vegetarian dishes (which change seasonally) always knock it out of the park. Plus, they have an amazing whiskey selection.

      Yes, Red Rooster has been on my list for a while! Their brunch menu seems more vegetarian friendly than their dinner menu, though.

  4. If you’re in Chicago, Green Zebra is definitely worth a stop. Upscale, well done all vegetarian menu with a great cocktail list as well.
